No it wasn't expected.  Based on the 2004 Mock election (https://uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT/GENERAL/CAMPAIGN/2004/mock04.php)
I'd have expected at least one more fringe candidate to have their supporters flood te mock election.  To have only one do so was quite unexpected.

You just now noticed this?  Its been like that for almost the entire duration of the mock primary.  Actually IIRC his lead has dwindled ever so slightly.

It has indeed. He was well over 50% for a while.

Looks as if some Edwards supporters have found the mock election, too; he gained about 40 votes overnight.

Ha.  The Obama people are exactly the same way, if not worse.  They're swarming the internet much more wildly than the Paul people.

Er, Paul has more votes than Obama, plus one must also take into account Obama actually has a chance of winning the presidency, while Paul does not.

Err... no. Obama is more popular online than in real life, I will admit, but the discrepancy is not enormous. Before the Edwards spamming of the mock election, Obama had about 33% of the Democratic primary vote compared to around 25% nationally; not too far off (though Clinton was well below her national numbers). Paul, on the other hand, at his peak had 52% compared to about 5% nationally, not even close.
