Now that is something I didn´t expect. Clinton was leading by 20+ in all other recent polls, so this is really troubling for her. Also the fact that she doesn´t have a real chance of carrying NV in the General Election, while Obama would be really competetive (assuming McCain has no chance to win the GOP nomination).

Nevada always seemed like a good place for Obama in my opinion. This seems to be a national trend. Maybe it's Oprah!

Yep. NV is in the exact same boat as CO.

Why does Nevada like Clinton so little?

I think it's general western antipathy towards being interfered with, that is, with large government programs. Clinton, generally for good reason, is seen as an advocate of big government, while most of the Republicans are not. (For the same reason, I can't see Huckabee, in the long run, winning any of the four Southwestern states [Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado] against Obama, who doesn't come off as for big government; it's all about perceptions.)

The Oprah bump (if there is one) won't really show up in any polls for at least a week.

Nevada is one of those states that the Hillary-and-Obama nuts are hoping to go blue in 2008, but at the end of the day Nevada voters won't vote for a woman or a black guy.   Sorry, but it won't happen.

Nevada also has lots of hispanics, blue-collar workers, and the 2nd lowest rate of church attendance in the country. While I doubt Hillary could win it, I think Obama could, especially if he's running against Huckabee or (much less likely) Thompson.

Your act is growing tired. Of course, I'm sure they'll have no problem voting for a Southern Baptist Minister, a serial adulterer/three time divorcee, or a Mormon.

Agreed.  Nevada is an odd state.  Its voters like to think of themselves as Western libertarian types, but in all actuality, they probably trend populist.
