I don't really care. I have other things to worry about. I used to favor building a fence or whatever but like most views I've held I never really cared about it. I never cared about the scary brown people, I was always more afraid of all the scary poor people coming into the country and making it poorer. Now I don't support illegal immigration, but I think we should make it easy for everyone to come here who wants to come here. Pretty much just do a check on everyone who wants to come here and if they don't have a criminal record or a transmittable disease, let them in. Once their in, require them to attend free English language classes so they can function in the country. I think that's a pretty good deal.

I am one of the very few people in my office who isn't black, and the black women flirt with me frequently.  So no, I can't say I feel persecuted.

I can't imagine whites ever becoming a minority. This stupid anti-Mexican bigotry reminds me of anti-Irish bigotry in the 1840s and anti-Italian bigotry in the 1910s. I remember a newspaper reporting about about "greasy brown scum" (referring to the scary guineas of course) and how they would take over America and drown out blue-eyed blondes. It's this kind of bullshoot that makes me wish there was still a Black Panther Party.

First off, I don't think this is likely to happen anytime soon.  Second, even if whites were to become a minority I wouldn't be afraid of persecution.  Third, Mexicans are white.  Their ancestors are European which makes them white IMO.  I'd say that at least 75% of the time I can't tell that a person is Latino until they are identified as such by someone else.

Jewish people have always concerned themselves with preserving their race and religion.  I don't see anything wrong with not wanting to be a minority.  After all, that is why the US taxpayer supports "the Jewish state" of Israel with so much money.    Jewish people think of themselves as different from other people on Earth, they even have a word for all the non-Jews.  Are you  saying that Jews are evil racists?  I am worried about Jews becoming a minority in Israel and I support efforts to maintain a racial majority.  All people deserve that chance, including whites.  Jewish people would tell you that not worrying about demographics is for fools.

Of course, latino is a race made up by the census bureau. I always find it hilarious that they apply it to Mexicans, but not to European Latins--otherwise, Philadelphia would be full of latinos...

Actually "hispanic" is what the census bureau uses*.  Also, Western Hemisphere "latins" have a lot of indigenous people's blood running through their veins that your typical southern European doesn't have.  I do agree that both terms are confusing and probably not very accurate descriptions of a group of people though.  I don't know what would be better though.


*Actually I just learned that they now (well, since 1997) that they use both officially.  I was under the impression that many hispanics found the term "latino" offensive, I guess my ignorance is fought again.
