ive moved beyond last evening  Smiley

seriously, i dont think the results last night will change anything in wv.  im still predicting a 67-30 victory for obama, with the white male option (edwards) picking up the rest.

will obama win any counties?

it'd be quite interesting if he didn't - especially if the 37-point Obama victory rolls through as you have predicted.

his best shot is the county that morgantown is in.

he also probably stands a chance in the eastern panhandle counties.  those areas have built up quite a bit in recent years.

Morgantown = Monongalia County

Monongalia County might be his best performance in the state, but Hillary will still beat him there, IMO.

Might as well add my map:

I'd guess Obama's best bet is one of the panhandle counties that has been getting suburbanized by the D.C. metro, but I don't really know much about WV.

No but he spun it really well.  He has moved on to the general election, so if he loses by 30 points  he can just say it's cuz he didn't campaign there.

It should change it's name to Reverse Virginia.

Clinton 64%
Obama 35%

I can't imagine Clinton supporters are very fired up right now, and Tuesday showed the Democratic voters are starting to want this to end.  Still...

Clinton 61%
Obama 39%

...had Clinton had a good night, I would've said 71-29.

Hmm, his campaign is doing a good job of spinning it then.  They've made it seem like he's completely moved on to the general election.  So at least outside WV when he loses he'll just say he didn't campaign there (like the Florida argument).

walter are you actually in WV right now?  If so, can you attest to seeing any Obama ads?  I'm just curious because I'd like to know what kind of effort he's putting into this state.

I doubt he's in WV any more than I'm in NC (a state I have never been to.)

There's no reason for Obama to NOT run ads in WV. It's not like he's low on money, that WV is a very expensive state, or that he has anywhere else to run really.

All Obama has to do is make sure he doesn't get below 35% in WV and he is good.
