I really don't have anything against Michelle or Cindy, but I voted for Michelle, because she is out helping Obama on the campaign trail. I haven't seen Cindy do anything for McCain yet.
she let his campaign use her company jet when his campaign was almost broke.
cindy is helping mccain all she can within legality.

Cindy McCain certainly has more class than someone who makes rude remarks about the successful public battle she fought against her addiction.

Yeah!  And Kitty Dukakis had a LOT more class than the HW Bush people who attacked her.  Oh wait ... I guess it was ok for Republicans to attack her because her husband was a Dem ....
I wasn't around during this time, but I wouldn't have supported them then.

The amount of bullsh**t in this thread is incredible.

Cindy McCain is deeply frightening. Not that it really matters, but I don't see how anyone finds her remotely attractive. We don't need another Stepford wife.

Cindy seems like another Laura Bush-type. A respectful first lady who does what a first lady should do.
... Which is nothing, I suppose. Oh wait, first ladies are supposed to have fluffy little tea parties and such. Maybe it's a good thing that Bill Clinton didn't end up becoming First Lady.

Conservative women should totally know their place.  Unlike that awful Liberal Margaret Thatcher.
Obviously Margaret Thatcher should have learned her place and, more important, stayed in it. Damn liberal power-grabbing feminist.
Laura Bush has accomplished a lot in nonpolitical programs, such as her promotion of reading and libraries and her heart disease awareness campaign, as well as other projects.  Mrs. Bush doesn't run her mouth about political opinions and ideas and has served us well as first lady.  She is a good role model for what the president's spouse should be, which is not someone who becomes involved politically in their role as First Lady.

Where in the job description of a first lady does it say anything about you shouldn't be involved politically?

Basically, what you are looking for is a Stepford wife as a first lady.

Hahah, no comparison.  Obviously Michelle Obama is a more appealing figure, though the only reason I would have to disapprove of Cindy McCain is her decision to marry an older, dumb, abusive Vietnamese puppet.  At least Michelle shows excellent taste in men.

this thread, as is typical on a message board full of guys is exactly the kind of sexism that Hillary supporters bristled at.  I mean the main issue people have with Michelle Obama is that she "doesn't keep her trap shut", and Cindy McCain is only compared to Paris Hilton,  frankly this thread is a piece of crap.

::: applauding :::

I think they are both intelligent, attractive and probably very nice women.

Exactly the reason why I created it.  And you know what else?  This is the exact kind of pointless garbage on which elections are decided.  And do you know why?  Because people are dumb.

Cindy McCain.  She loves people of all races, is very pretty despite being fifteen years older than her hag-like opponent, and isn't a gangly bitch.
You also can't forget that she has always liked her country, not just when her husband is winning

there's nothing more cloying than an argument over who likes their country more.  What a crock of dung!  As if people run for office trying to improve the government of a country they dislike.  And so what if they dislike things about their country.  If you grew up a second class citizen, you'd not blindly love your country either.

I'm really beginning to hate this forum.

Cindy McCain's reaction to Michelle Obama's statement really, really, turned me off to her. I believe Michelle Obama misspoke and that she has felt proud of America at other times. However, it smacks of the elitism of which Republicans are so fond of accusing Democrats that a rich, privilaged white heiress is taking a black woman to task for daring to say that she had ever felt something less than pride in the way America has behaved.

The first lady (or if we ever get a female President, the first gentleman) has only two legitimate roles: hostess (possibly host?) of ceremonies of state (e.g. visits from foreign dignitaries) and spouse of the President.  There is no legal authority/power, nor any special security clearance, granted to the first lady (or putative first gentleman) by the constitution or any law pursuant thereto, nor is there any reason that a spouse should be a political surrogate.  Being married to a politician does not make one a politician as well; that is not how that particular disease spreads (politics is not an STD).

I tend to favor Mrs. McCain for the sole reason that she seems to be content to stay above the fray and not have an interest in involving herself in the suspension of personal integrity that is the political arena.

Michelle Obama. After imposing universal healthcare in the US that actually works (Grin) during 2009-11 with the help of her husband, she'll run for US Senate in 2016 in the state of Pennsylvania where she defeats would-be comeback kid Rick Santorum by 8 points. Unfortunately, in 2024 she's running for the Democratic Presidential nomination, but loses to Mark Begich - a popular two-term senator from Alaska, who promises to change Washington after 8 years of failed Mitt Romney politics.
Instead of Mark Begich, shouldnt it possibly be a 2 year hispanic senator with relatively no accomplishments?
