I do not care for Nixon. I do not think that either of these people were very good. But, because of his foreign relations, I say Nixon.

What about you? Who do you think as a better President of these two and whY?

Absolutely Truman.  The Marshall Plan, recognition of Israel, and Civil Rights make him one of the top 10 Presidents ever.

Nixon, although not as bad as some people claim, just cannot compete with Truman.

I like Truman, but his recognition of Israel really drags him down, although, I guess he did not have the view of hindsight.  These are both presidents w/strong foreign policies and weak domestic.  I'd go Truman by a nose

They were both fairly strong in domestic as well.

No there is a matter of opinion, I think they were both weak exemplified by Nixon not being able to accomplish New Federalism at all.  The only thing Nixon did was help keep schools segregated

Nixon's foreign policy was average, and he was a very effective President who strongly belived in civil rights.

Truman.

If anything, that makes him even better.
