It is time for me to step away as a participate from the forum. It simply hasn't been the same forum when I joined almost 3 years ago. Over the last few months (and more often over the last few week), I feel that the rationality of a great deal of posters have gotten mean-spirited and out of hand. It is become frustrating and impossible to rationally discuss issues.

I will miss the fiction timelines, the election what-if folks (even harping on poor Ben Constine) and the off-topic stuff and the posters like how silly (in a good way) Bush Oklahoma can be on sports, Joe Republic’s sense of humor, or MODU talking about everything or even my zillion PMs to and from Rockefeller Republican. The NFL season has been a fun discussion despite the disaster in the Super Bowl. I know this come shortly after my foot-in the-mouth prediction but that has no point in my leaving. Though to entirely blow a Super Bowl prediction, the way I did, is a fine good way to go out of here!

I do not know if this will be temporary or permanent step down. I do plan to observe the forum from time to time. Those who still want to PM or IM me, I will still respond. Whether I post any longer or not – we’ll just have to wait and see. Despite my feeling about the forum, there is no argument that the historical election maps, on this site, are superb and I plan to use them in the future.

With all the changes on the forum and changes in my professional life, I feel that it is just time, for me, to move on.
