It's time for the Schuminator to have a friendly "discussion" with Ventura.

This part of the interview is hilarious:

I'm sure that'll be the number one issue on the minds of voters.

I don't know about you; I regularly call up Frank Lautenberg for protection when I go out late at night.

Lucky. I'm stuck with Dianne Feinstein.

If Ventura enters this race, I'm moving it down to Likely R.

I simply don't believe that in a race between two joke candidates and one non-joke candidate that one of the two joke candidates will win.

This compares to 1998, when there was only one joke candidate and two non-joke candidates (which gives the joke candidate a better chance).

Scooped me by 20 seconds. I loved that line. King kept pestering him and Ventura just sidestepped the questions. He really is a politician.

I really like Ventura but his non serious treatment of wherever he was going to run or not really makes me think less of him. I’m starting to think I was played and all this speculation was just to help him sell his new book.

That being said, I'd still be very happy if he ran.

Does that mean Ventura isn't running?

Also, in a race with two non-joke candidates and one joke candidate, the joke wins, right? Wink

Ventura's out, but Barkley wants him to help him on the campaign trail. I think he could do pretty well, but not enough to win and not enough to actually earn what Ventura was polling. Maybe 15% max?

In this race, which candidate is the joke? Tongue

Barkley starts with 8% in the polls and will only go downhill.

Yeah, I would say 3-4% in the end.  Maybe.
