His Accidency John Tyler was voted off the island yesterday. The judges are not willing to comment at this point, but insiders suspect that his veto of the tariff bill & annexation of Texas played roles.

Now, with 28 men left, it's your choice as to who stays, & who goes. Be aware that 1/3 of the Presidents have now been eliminated. Now with numbers denoting the order in which they were voted off, per Torie's suggestion.

I changed more rules regarding tiebreakers in order to avoid future confusion. The changed content in the rules is still bolded. The rest is still DanimalBR's work.

I also changed a few of the following rules to make it easier for me.

To add, if I'm not online & the next topic is not open yet at or soon after midnight, Xahar, or anyone else of my choosing, can open the next one. If he's not available either, & it opens more than six hours late, the deadline will be pushed back a day to give everyone a fair chance to vote. Per the rules, this will close at the end of the day of Sunday, August 17th, 2008.

I have a feeling what the major factions here will be. I want to protect Silent Cal, so I will vote to kick off:

I'm not voting strategically today.  Instead, I'd like to be the first person (after 15 rounds!) to vote to boot Richard Nixon.

Van Buren

I like Truman and admire FDR, so I can't be part of the great right wing conspiracy on that one. I suggest going with my hit, unless you are willing to see  Coolidge dumped. After that I suggest the  un presidents Garfield and WH Harrison, and then Taylor and then Ben Harrison. And then I am willing to support The Mikado in his mission about Nixon. Smiley

Would have rather gone for some others first, but if a certain game is played...

Isn't this the first vote that Lincoln has received? It occurred to me that if we get to the end & it's down to Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Truman, & Nixon, that will be a bloody hard choice for me. Sad
