For me, it's the war.  I believe we're in an immoral, unecessary war.  And aside from the tragic and fruitless loss of human life, we're drawing vast resources away from the real theater of war.

The economy is a distant second to me.

National security. The economy hits its peaks and valleys and the President has little control over it. It will rebound whether we have Obama or McCain in the White House.

For me, it's foreign policy, generally speaking. When I see just how poorly the Right has treated the military these past 6 years, it infuriates the hell outta me. And I don't see McCain doing one damn thing differently than what the President did. Obama had the courage and foresight to say, in 2002 mind you, that the evidence to justify a war wasn't there and it had the potential to be a disaster. Keep in mind this was the time when Hillary and Kerry were all over TV saying we had to invade.

So yeah, just what's on my mind. Though I have to admit that Governor Palin being on the ticket is a big plus for me. If I were to vote for McCain, it would more be a vote for Palin. But right now I'm still supporting Obama.

Right.  That's number one.  Obama's missing flag pin would be number two.

Actually the war in Iraq is a big part of the problem with the economy. Unfortunately McCain will continue the war, and Obama will find different ways to screw up the economy and I'm still not sure he has a solution to the war. So if anything changes, it will only get worse.

well duhhhh....I want my gas prices back at $1/gallon....that's the only reason I'd think of voting.

If you can find it, look for Lew Rockwell's speech from the Rally for the Republic. He gives a good explanation on Bush and the price of oil.

That's not going to end, period.  And it would certainly never end with a mere election.  For them to give up their privilege blood would have to run in the streets.

There are three major issues areas which have dominated Presidential elections for the past 36 years plus:

1.) The economy,
2.) Social issues,
3.) Foreign policy/national defense

Now, neither major party candidate has a good, credible plan for the economy.  Obama merely offers watered down socialism, and McCain has waffled so many times on so many issues no one knows what he will really do if elected.

On social issues, generally the Republicans have benefited, unless the Democrats neutralized the issue (as Clinton did in 92 amd 96) or the Republican candidate booted away the issue (as Ford did in 76 and McCain appears to be doing this year).  If Obama makes any more of his stupid "clinging" remarks, or talks about infanticide being over his pay grade, this could turn in to a plus for McCain.  If McCain goes back to supporting amnesty for illegal aliens (I know that he denies that is what his plan is, but the truth is, that is what his plan is, and his denial is a lie) he is in big trouble.

On foreign policy/national defense, McCain has a commanding lead.  Obama has got to hope that there are no major foreign policy crisis between now and election day, and if there is one, Obama better be prepared to sound like Jack Kennedy, not like George McGovern!

I haven't given it much thought. I suppose reining in the leviathan of government spending (though I doubt either candidate will do nearly enough about it).
