I think they are waiting for some absentee and provisional ballots to come in.

Does that include all provisionals and absentees, or just some? I'm frankly surprised how much it shifted in Obama's favor.

Wow it is closing fast. There might be an outside chance MO could vote for Obama, and keep their bellwether status.

I get the sense that anyone who's a Nader supporter now is either an 18 year old wannabe revolutionary or a 60 year old non-conformist Hippie who would never vote for a major party candidate.

If we were to go by the exit poll that CNN still has on it's website, Obama should have won.

So, we don't know yet when all will be called OFFICIALLY (not by the MSM who are not at all reliable) in MO.

I just heard on NPR that Missouri's vote totals won't be certified by the state for another three weeks. The counties have to certify their totals in a week, and then the state has to do it two weeks after that. They're still canvassing, and they still have about 7,000 provisional votes to go through.

The same report suggested that though there would likely be a continued closing of the gap, it was unlikely that Obama would make up the 5000 vote margin from the votes that remained.

With only 7,000 provisionals left, it would be basically impossible. Although, does Missouri have an automatic recount provision? We could be left hanging until December (although McCain would almost certainly still win in a recount).

Even if Missouri has an automatic recount, there is probably a provision that allows the candidate who would be entitled to such a recount to waive it.  I would assume Obama would waive such a recount since a win in Missouri would just be running up the score even more.  Maybe if he were like Steve Spurrier he would ask for a recount:)
