Good, so we know not to pass the Republican healthcare proposal.

We can add to that the fact that we already knew not to pass the Democrats' healthcare proposal.

I would hope a split gov't would get them to create a bill with the best of both worlds, and it would force the Obama administration to moderate its positions as well. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but neither party has governed effectively with complete government control in recent political history.

Why would that be?

From what I've seen, a split government would simply combine the worst of both worlds.

They balanced the budget under Clinton, the Reagan economic recovery was a split gov't.
