Wait, high schools will have to offer at least two foreign languages? That can be really impractical for smaller schools. For example, my cousin's high school in rural south Georgia has literally fifteen teachers; I doubt schools like that one could really afford to have two language teachers on staff.

If you write up language that would provide exemptions to specific schools, I will be happy to introduce and accept the amendment.

While I don't have the time to write something up myself, this bill definitely shouldn't pass without making exceptions for very small schools.

Have other VP duties to attend to? Tongue

Real world duties Tongue, especially beginning my transition from home back to school.

I'll try to work on something now. If I don't finish I'll post it tomorrow night. You're off the hook this time, but your input once I post the preliminary amendment would be appreciated. I just want to make sure I get it right.

Unless anyone objects to it, it's automatically in the bill.

I don't think I've missed any amendments, if so someone should let me know. Besides that is there going to be anything else in this bill? Any other amendments?

I'll take a quick look, if I haven't objected to anything by this evening, I'm fine with it going to a vote. Of course, I'm just one Senator, so don't be bound to my request. Tongue

I'm terribly sorry for not being able to get involved in this debate. I was out of town for most of the debate on this bill, which sucks, because this is somewhat up my ally, being in high school now...Wink

So basically, if I understand this bill correctly, it's basicaly just lays out curriculum for schools? If so, I see nothing wrong with this. I didn't find any amendments, though, that made schools require to teach physical education at any school level. Was there a bill for that perviously? If not, there should be an amendment on it. Personally, I think there should be requirements, for the sake of the student's health. Kids need at least an hour of exercise a day, and most of them won't do it unless they have to.

Since the last bill ont the school curriculum failed because than physical education was added, no.

Regions and school boards are still free to add it and I suppose than most will do.
