It is a mystery to me what you mean by 'coldbloodedness' in this context.

Oh ok.  I didn't understand it because considering the general line of your attack I thought that you would only use pejoratives about the victim in these cases.

I hope everyone realizes that there is a difference in everyday, reasonable Mississippians and random occasional school administrators in podunk-middle of nowhere agricultural high school and attendance centers.
There are hundreds of high schools in Mississippi that do include gays in the yearbooks and don't cancel proms because of them.

NO! Negative stereotypes about a region most of us have never lived in must be true!

I feel for Harry here...... I know people in central KY that make fun of the rubes in eastern KY and wish they'd go away, because they get lumped with the eastern ones.

But you still only hear about stuff like this from places like Mississippi, even if it in no way represents a majority of the state.

We had a mock Supreme Court trial on this case in my Constitutional Law class last Friday. All of the justices sided with McMillen!

I'm still glad to live in a state that never has these kind of issues.

Who cares? What a local school district in Mississippi does is their business. Unless one of you people lives in that district (and I doubt that), your opinion matters not.

Why, yes, New York's incidents are practically bucolic next to the trials and tribulations in Mississippi.

So if that local school board decides to revert to whites only.......

Is it still "their business"?

This just in from 1969: Everyone is homophobic.

The problem is that those sorts of things could still happen in Mississippi today. Not so for many other states. (I won't say most, since things much more similar to Stonewall than this happened a year or two ago in Texas.)

That was 41 years ago! I was really talking about recent times there, sorry if I was a bit hyperbolic.
