C+. Can be quite good on tactics, but often poor on strategy. His performance at the House Republican retreat earlier this year was outstanding; he's still usually a good speaker and he can debate rings around his opponents; but some of his decisions aren't good and apparently he's not appealing to people who (unlike me) aren't looking for reasons to like him. At least he's inventing new mistakes instead of repeating old ones.

I remain impressed with some of the things he got done with this Congress.

D-. He only gets pushed up to this low D because of his final push for HCR, which was executed well and his speeches. His performance in interviews has been terrible and some of his weird erratic statements have really harmed him. When it comes to strategy, I'd give him an extremely low F but I suppose his skills at delivering speeches and debate, which are still brilliant, bring him up to a D-.

I hope I'm wrong about this...

F. Watered down legislation, screwing over the base, and losing 60+ seats is epic fail.

pretty much. even around jon stewart he's clearly out of his league and defensive. it's becoming much more obvious everyday what a fluke barry getting anywhere near as far as he did was.

He's still clueless.  Wake me when he shows that he isn't.

Close to an F in the past year. He does not handle pressure well, or conflict, or how to do the Clinton "more in sorrow than in anger" thing, which Clinton did so well. I am beginning to wonder if Obama just has too many personal hangups. We shall see. I do really want him to succeed. Our nation will be hurt if he does not. But he needs an epiphany.

F.  It really sucks for Democrats that he had to win in 2008.  It will take the party many years to recover from the damage this Presidency has done to them.

On policy I'd rate him somewhere around a G or an H, and that kind of has to carry over to my rating of his political strength, since he's made it highly dependent on his policy ("Summer of Recovery" anyone?).

Oh come on, the Titanic has already hit the iceberg.  There's nothing he can do.

Anyway, you don't support doubling your own taxes, so you don't really want to save the nation.

Oh, and by the way - B+.

Without Pelosi or Reid, Obama would have no Congressional influence at all.

D-

But tell me the Republicans are in good shape, they are still hurting from Bush....

Its a wide open field. no party is strong now, both are weak, we are getting to the point where a 3rd party have a better shot than they have in a while

I don't think there's any objective - or even fake 'objective' - way of doing this. But he certainly has a knack of trying to please everyone and pleasing no one as a result. When will politicians learn that the only people who like fake centrism are the idiots who write newspaper editorials?
