and they like Gov. McDonnell:

Do you approve or disapprove of the way Bob McDonnell is handling his job as Governor?

55-26

Would you support or oppose a law that would allow same-sex couples to get married?

41-52

Do you support or oppose allowing same-sex couples to adopt children?

51-43

Currently in Virginia, state and church run adoption agencies can prevent an adoption to prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Do you think that policy should be continued or ended?

42-51

Do you think that: State-run adoption agencies should be allowed to prevent an adoption if the prospective parents are gay or lesbian or don't you think so?

35-59

Do you think that: Church-run adoption agencies should be allowed to prevent an adoption if the prospective parents are gay or lesbian or don't you think so?

48-45

...

As you may know, there is a ban on mining uranium in Virginia. Some people say: There should be mining for uranium because of the economic benefits. Others say: There should not be mining for uranium because of the environmental impact. Which comes closer to your point of view?

41-41

I blame it on the uranium deficiency.

Virginia at 41% on gay marriage? Man, times are changing and they're changing fast.

I honestly thought it would be higher, considering the national numbers have crossed 50%

That's similar to the constitutional amendment popular vote in 2006 though, right? Although voting for a gay marriage ban is different than voting for actual gay marriage (while some people don't understand the difference).

The 57-43 vote banned gay marriage, civil unions, and anything else that might be construed as two gay people getting any rights.

African Americans overwhelmingly don't support gay marriage if the Prop 8 numbers are anything to go by.

Er, more like "African-Americans living in or near poverty" don't support gay marriage. And they tend to be more religious and uneducated, which are better barometers for gay marriage support than the color of someone's skin.

That one exit poll released right after the election wasn't accurate--it didn't stand up in comparison with precinct numbers.
