Ideologies of those listed:

Ogis - spam troll, no real ideology
Pravda - communist
Madhur - liberal Democrat
Rild - anti-Semetic nut, but also attacked conservatives
Lance McSteel - liberal Democrat whose trolling was mostly against conservatives and Southernors

So in no case was it someone being banned simply for "disagreeing with liberals", and none of the posters was a conservative.

We should probably start using the report button to hopefully spur the mods to action to take out Coburn in 2012. Quite a troll graveyard already this year (Ogis, Pravda, Madhur, Rild, Lance McSteel all come to mind.)

Remove the posters who disagree with liberals?  Hmmm.  Interesting.  Why don't liberals just want to argue their position?  Why do they have to go get their nanny to fight for them?

At times we can learn something from conservatives. To be effective debaters they must rely upon something other than canned ideology and code words. It's possible to use them and explain them a bit differently.

I suggested that the effort to protect the family rightly includes efforts to reduce spouse abuse. Sure, a family with spouse abuse is already wrecked, but it the abuse is stopped when it is emotional instead of physical there might be some redemption of the family. It also includes reduction of some of the dangers to the family.  Some people dread homosexual seduction of a family -- but more families are ruined by heterosexual seductions. It's called adultery.  The family that has gay members has to face an increased risk of suicide especially from gay sons; one out of every three males between the ages of 16 and 21 who commits suicide is gay... and it is far easier to accept a son's gayness than to try to "straighten" the son.

As a straight male I find it easy to brush off a gay pass. I've gotten a few of them, and the gay fellow is able to get the message after a clear, firm, but gentle reminder that I am not interested. I can't say the same of gay-bashing; I can't convince someone to not beat me up with a baseball bat just because I have no desire for it, and I usually have no way of proving that I am straight. The problem is that someone so hates gays that he would risk a long prison term for assault and battery, let alone attempted murder even if the attack falls short of murder. Gay-bashing can take a husband from his family -- permanently. I can't excuse the bashing of gays or lesbians, either.

... If you want to argue with liberals than present facts -- not talking points. We know the bromides.

He's coming on a bit too strong to be for real.  Either that, or he's <16 years old.  Actually, both are the most likely combination.  I'd have a hard time believing a "Bernie Sanders 2012" person too.

Xahar was sort of "Bernie Sanders 2012" and in that age bracket.

Sanders is actually somewhat respected among conservatives (probably because he's not much of a media guy).

Supporting someone like Sanders is different then thinking they should be your party's nominee.

Quote of the Day

"A democracy could not exist because Mohammed already made the perfect law. The Quran is perfect just the way it is, that's why it is only written in Islamic."

-- Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), quoted by the Daily Nebraskan, obviously not knowing the Quran is written in Arabic.

As I said to a friend, it was either a) a simple slip of the tongue (remember Barack's 57 state tour?) or b) it he meant that it was written "in an Islamic religious context."

Anything else?  Wink

An interesting thread, thought it was worth bumping.
