I'm a Catholic, and I would agree with that- people might find it disconcerting. I even find it suspect, not more than infidelity, but a simply converting implies a wholesale endorsement of the policies of the Church, which we born into Catholicism are free from.

politically, the GOP dream candidate would be a Catholic (and also Hispanic), just as long as he keeps his opinions about birth control to her/him self.
