They also happen to be incredibly unprofessional- inside jokes among themselves and inappropriate comments... I watch shows to see the news not to hear what is going on in the anchor's lives

I don't know, I like it. When I read articles on Politico it's a lot easier for me to picture the writer and see where people are coming from perspective-wise, after seeing them on TV speaking more informally about their views.
