We're seeing Obama start to re-open leads in swing states around the country

Are the Bain attacks actually working?

Yes, they are keeping things nice and polarized and not letting Romney set the agenda.

No, thankfully. The President (and Gov. Romney) will actually have to resort to substantive debate of the issues.

No, but Romney not wanting to talk about the downside of Bain is missing an opportunity to humanise him...

Re take the lead? He's had the lead the entire time and it's now trending the other direction.

Sure. Everybody knows that turning venture capitalism into something more eleemosynary is just what the economy needs to get it going again.

As long as they remain sparse enough to be mainly background noise, they'll probably be effective.  It's when they get too much attention and people start to consciously think about them that they start to lose their effectiveness.  However, with all the political ads headed for the swing states, it'll be fairly easy to keep mst attacks at the background noise level.

Except I don't really feel like the Bain attacks have been all that sparse...

Romney would be struggling to set the agenda even in the absence of the Bain Offensive.
