Let's say that in 1960, the Democratic Ticket is reversed: Lyndon Johnson is nominated by the Democratic Party for the Presidency and John F. Kennedy is chosen as his running mate. Could an LBJ/Kennedy ticket have beaten Nixon/Lodge in 1960? If not, could any ticket with Johnson for President have won against Nixon in 1960?

That all depends if you believe Kennedy won fairly in the first place, even Eisenhower wanted Nixon to call for a recount but Nixon didn't want to be known as a sore loser.
