Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta (son of the country's founding father Jomo Kenyatta) has stepped down temporarily while going to Hague to be questioned by the ICC. He is accused of "crimes against humanity" for instigating ethnic violence during the 2007 elections.
First time a HoS appears before the ICC during his term.

Kenyatta wants to avoid becoming known as the first sitting president to appear before the court. His replacement Vice President William Ruto is on trial in a separate case at the ICC. But no worries, Kenyatta will be back in office before Ruto is to appear in court.
