There is no way Clinton's approval rating will continue on like this once she joins a partisan ticket.  But this isn't all that surprising.

How disconnected are 13% of Americans that they have no idea who the 2004 Democratic candidate for President is?

I was thinking about it, too.

It looks like her floor is 50%.

Probably heavily people who were under 18 in 2004. But people also forget names.

Yep.  People have short memories.  I remember when there was some early 2012 GOP primary polling done in 2010, there was already a noticeable drop in the name recognition of both Huckabee and Romney from 2008 when they were running for president.

This. Most people in their twenties to-day were teens in '04. If they weren't particularly interested in politics, its quite probable they'd forget a losing candidate's name.

Yeah, its natural. I am surprised someone finds this more surprising than 9% not knowing who Joe Biden is.

It's hardly surprising that 13% of Americans don't remember who the guy who lost to Bush in 2004 was.

In reality, it's probably quite a bit higher. Most people don't want to sound ignorant and admit they have no idea who another person is talking about.
