Thats the easy answer, but would you support it in principle?

It certainly has the advantage of being absolutely egalitarian... I wouldn't support it for higher decision-making offices or for offices that require a particular administrative competence, but it could be good in some cases (it works well for jurors, for example).

As hilarious/terrifying it would be to see Opebo running the country, I don't particularly want a system that gives him a shot at power.

I could see a modified demarchy working as a variant of FPTP.

Candidates would run, and of those who got more than a threshold level of support, the office holder would be randomly selected.  You could even weight the chances of being selected depending upon how many people said a candidate would be a good choice.

Knowing my luck, I'd only get picked for issues I have little to no care for. So awful.

Good idea, not so much a good system.

I voted HS. For one thing, the system could still be influenced by corruption. If someone manages to manipulate the selection system, or possibly introduce selection criteria that results in cronyism. Second, without some selection criteria, there is no way of ensuring whether the pople selected would know how to run a functioning democracy. If anything, gridlock could actually be worse. Third, certain subjects, particularly science, need qualified individuals to make decisions related to it, and under an unregulated system, there is no way to ensure this.

I know it's popular with people in polls (a lot of people think that people randomly selected from the phone book would do a better job in Congress than the officials we have now), but I vote HS.  We should have people with actual experience in politics and government, since they probably will have better knowledge of the issues anyway.

FS, obviously.  Cut off the figurehead from the top of the chain of obedience and it will necessarily all fall apart as its absurdity is obvious to everyone.

HS in its purest form. However, a moderated demarchy could have some serious merits.
