What would be the advantages if any, of the GOP nominating Hagel?,
And what would an electoral map look like?

Hagel appeals to moderate voters, but loses much of the conservative vote. My gut is that he over-performs McCain but under-performs Romney - Clinton wins by around 5-6%.

If Hagel won the nomination, a conservative from within the party would make a third party run and win the Deep South and some Midwestern states . Unfortunately I can't post a map because I haven't reached 20 posts yet.
