Onyango sure does. Letting a future president come to stay with you has got to be a plus when it comes to avoiding deportation.

You'd think so, until you stopped being utterly clueless about western bureaucracy and/or the behavior of embarassed people in positions of power anywhere in the world.

Once you do, you're just glad the future president is a blood relative, so at least they will not kill you.

Though, of course, the fact that a man who apparently successfully fought deportation in the 80s has another deportation trial 30 years later speaks volumes in and of itself.

My impression was that he successfully fought it only in the sense of them losing track of him.  Either way, if you mean that people can be at risk of being deported without due process of law, that's certainly the case.

This administration's scandals are so boring. It's quite painful to listen to detractors get up in arms about things. If a tangible, divisive controversy came about, it would be hard to take it seriously after so much henny penny the sky is falling and the crying of wolves. Save your energy for the Big Deals - it will have more of an impact, Republicans. I remember back during Bush that it was claimed Republicans were better at defining themselves and their opponents than Democrats in the public consciousness. Maybe they got carried away and forgot some of the key points.

Anybody who thinks Obama should have ratted out his uncle as an illegal when he was staying with him, or thereafter, is a cretin. But if Obama dissembled about it, how can that possibly be excusable?  Just asking.
