Has anyone drawn up an alternative history timeline of what would've happened if McCain won in 2008?

Ron Paul challenges President McCain in the primaries in 2012 and loses. President McCain is slightly re-elected over Hillary Clinton.

The 2010 midterms would have been disastrous for the GOP.  A la 1930.

I agree. Blanche Lincoln and Russ Feingold would survive re-election and the Democrats would likely pick up seats in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Ohio. In additon, the Democrats would have held their seats in Indiana, Illinois and Pennsylvania. In the House, I could see the Democrats maybe gaining another 25-30 seats.

Democrats probably pick-up McCain's old Senate seat in Arizona as well.
