His resume is pretty ridiculous for someone his age, makes me tired looking at it.   Honestly, I couldn't tell you who's been Surgeon General since C. Everett Koop, didn't even realize that's what Carmona did.  If he can engage the kids in the concept of public health then more power to him.

He does look like he stepped right out of the Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad, so he'll get all the haters mad.

What does the Surgeon General really do, besides PR?

Holds the rank of Vice Admiral, in overall command of the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps; leads this uniformed service consisting of several thousand doctors who detect and respond to imminent public health threats.
