Opposing economic sanctions against South Africa (this was when they still had apartheid, of course) is another one that could be added to the list, off the top of my head. Thankfully his veto was overridden by the Congress on that one.

trading arms with IRAN, arming the horrendous Contra rebels (who kidnapped & murdered innocent women & children as part of their *tatics)  so we could try to put the Somoza dictatorship back in power was a good thing???  WOW
