We know that he enacted the sequence: (a) google something roughly like "United States presidential election county maps", (b) click on "Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections", (c) stick around the various pages of the Atlas to notice there was a forum, (d) upon reading a bunch of conversations among anonymous people who liked discussing things like why Ellis County KS was historically unusually Democratic for rural western Kansas, think "this is a community I want to be part of", (e) start posting and continue to do so. In other words, he is a nerd like the rest of us.
