The GOP goes all in with an all-black ticket (assuming TW Shannon gets elected as OK's Senator) against an all-female ticket by the Dems.

How would this one turn out?

Both Scott and Shannon strike me as solid conservatives but not crazy Allen West types, so it would be interesting to see what % of the black vote they could get.

I see a 269-269. Scott and Shannon could do well, but it would be close over Clinton unless he goes arch-conservative in the debates. If not, Clinton could win without CO, 323-215. I'm torn on this election matchup.

And Hillary would pick a black running mate (Deval Patrick/Cory Booker/Anthony Brown) if she was running against an all black Republican ticket.

This would scream pandering, and I could honestly see the Republicans doing just as badly or worse among black voters if this happened. Regardless of that, Hillary would still win by a fairly close margin.

Considering Tim Scott couldn't win the GOP primary I'm not going to entertain this scenario.

Probably close to the same as 2012, with Hillary Clinton picking up North Carolina and Arizona and at the same time getting demolished in South Carolina and Oklahoma by a somewhat larger percentage than Obama lost those states by.

And an all female ticket wouldn't be pandering to women?

The GOP has a serious problem with black voters.

Neither party has serious issues with women as a whole.

Black Republican policies don't appeal to average black voters. It won't make a difference.

The Democrats would have a stronger ticket.

While Scott and Shannon could help change the image of the Republican party, it's a ticket with weaknesses. They come from safe conservative states, and have meager records. It would be a total of six years in the Senate, with no significant executive experience. Their views are also pretty far right. It's also possible to demonize two Republicans who were against raising the debt ceiling.

A lot will depend on the political environment, although this would be a Republican ticket more likely to make a game-changing gaffe than the Democrats are.

I was referring to both tickets, but I have no doubt it would backfire more on the GOP side as Klobuchar has probably quadruple the experience and Shannon has yet to even prove he has what it takes to win a primary.

Both tickets have hints of pandering, and looking at that exclusively would make it seem like things were balanced out. However, something else to keep in mind is that black conservatives aren't particularly favored by the media. If either Scott or Shannon were moderates like Colin Powell, the ticket might have better chances, but since they are not, it is likely that they would be tarred and feathered on every news network except for Fox day and night. Scott/Shannon would not offend the Republican base by any means, but probably wouldn't win over that many undecided voters, and GOP turnout could be low.

Under normal circumstances, Clinton/Klobuchar would probably win every Obama 2012 state, with the addition of North Carolina, Georgia, and Missouri. If the national environment is awful for the Democrats, Scott/Shannon might sweep the South and pick up Ohio, but it is doubtful that they would win.
