Is anyone living here living in a place that politically extremely different from their own political view?

Some examples:
1. A conservative Tea Partier Republican living in Los Angeles, CA
2. A liberal Democrat living in small rural town in Wyoming

And yes, I like the name of this thread.

I guess most in the Washington DC area (my new stompin' grounds) are pro-choice, but thats just one issue.

Otherwise, I think I fit LA and NC pretty well.

I live in a rural tea party hotbed.

There were people dress in Uncle Sam costume and the like all over the side walk.

I live in a 7% Romney ward on the isthmus in Madison, WI where if all the opponents of legalized marijuana, gay marriage and abortion had a meeting, we could fit in a phone booth.

My city voted Sarkozy by about 15 points. Still it doesn't bother me much, I don't have much interaction with the inhabitants anyway.

Yes and no, my county voted 65.7% for Romney (Macon, MO).

While I'm more sympathetic to the President than most of the county's residents, I think I fit right in on social issues and am not that far to the left economically.

It's definitely a conservative area, but the right kind of Democrat can win.  Todd Akin did win the county by 2 points, but I think that if the Dems worked toward courting Appalachia and the lowland South(from LA to WV, basically), they could do much better in places like this.

Relatively mildly. While Orange County is technically GOP-leaning, north county generally isn't and neither are most of the people in the circles I hang out in. My main differences with them is that I'm somewhat more conservative on social issues (most notably abortion) and tend to emphasize economic issues far more.

I am a Marxist living in a county that went 66.17 percent for Romney in 2012. You do the math.

Kind of? I'm a staunch progressive living in a county that Obama only won by ~2 points in 2008.
