Which one of these choices you rather want the GOP presidential nominee to pick as their vice presidential choice in 2016?

I'd prefer John Thune, of course.

I don't think anyone would pick Cruz as a running mate. Even his admirers won't claim that he plays nice with others.

Depends entirely on the top of the ticket. If the Presidential candidate is sane, then Thune. If not, then Cruz, by virtue of him making the ticket's defeat more likely.

Neither of these options contribute anything to the ticket

Some pundits think that the Republicans shouldn't nominate two white males on a ticket, like Thune or a Walker, but IMO, Thune won't do harm, but he could help in Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, which equals 26 electoral votes states the Republicans want to win.

One of the options contributes so many negatives that the other option ends up being the only credible one.

As I've said, if the Tea Party wing has the president slot then I think Susan Martinez should be on the shortlist. If the Establishment gets in then you almost have to go with Scott Walker, John Kasich, Mike Pence or Tim Scott to bring the party together.
