FF!

Salem's Lot, The Stand, and the recentish time-travel one are my favorites.  The movie/TV adaptations range from classic and significantly better than the book (Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) to awful (Christine, Under the Dome, Salem's Lot), but most I've seen are good, but not great (The Green Mile, Stand by Me,  Misery, The Shining) or "meh" (the Dead Zone, Dolores Claiborne).

Huge FF - his earlier work is really good and can be quite hard to put down. I have not read much of him really since about the '90s at some point and friends tell me his newer work is not as good, but his classics are great. Four Past Midnight was a good collection of novellas from about 1990 or 1991. There's a story in there called "The Sun Dog" that I think I read almost in one sitting. I might have spanned it over two days, but it's unlike me to do that because I could not put the thing down.

As a male cracker teen in the 80s/90s that liked to read I pretty much had to read his stuff.  I really enjoyed The Stand*, It, The Talisman and The Shinning.  I also liked the short story collections, especially Skeleton Crew.  Most of the Bachman books have been pretty great too (especially Rage and The Long Walk).  The newest thing of his that I've read were The Regulators/Desperation.  I enjoyed both, but I don't read fiction too much anymore.

*one of my favorite books....top 5 easy.

The movie was hilarious but the book was kinda of messed up with the child orgy and all.
