The slow but steady healing of the US-Iran relationship seems to be one of the few bright spots in current foreign affairs. Who'd have thought? Just hope it lasts.

I first saw this on the main page and thought it would be a death announcement. I was hoping for "officially confirmed dead" or something Sad.

Perhaps we can use the threat of developing a closer relationship with Tehran as a bargaining chip to keep Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States and Israel on better behavior.

Iran is a pretty bad country, but compared to Saudi Arabia it's probably the lesser evil right now. Of course, the United States (or the West in general) have often made bad experience with supporting the lesser evil.

That being said, the U.S. is still selling jet fighters to Saudi Arabia, while it has placed sanctions on Iran. In any case, that lacks a certain... proportionality.

I think Obama had to wait until warmongering Hillary was out of his administration to have reasonable talks with Iran.

Here she says we need to "understand what we're getting into" if we cooperate with Iran against ISIS. Funny, she never said we needed to "understand what we're getting into" when she voted for the $1 trillion Iraq war.

But we've always been at war with Eurasia, we've always been allied with Eastasia.
