Can you see the London mayor Boris Johnson becoming the next leader of the British Conservative Party if David Cameron resigns or loses power in 2015, and perhaps the future prime minister of Britain?

Um... No, he comes off a bit buffoonish to us in the States... I honestly think, it's more Cameron would step down and name Clegg a caretaker PM, than Boris Johnson ever being Prime Minister.

You're right. Boris looks crazy.

Yes, I can see Johnson becoming Tory leader in either of these situations:

A. Tories lose in 2015 (fairly likely, although eight months is a long time in politics, plus Labour don't have a commanding lead in the polls).
B. Tories win in 2015, but Cameron steps aside around 2017 or 2018.

Tories lose in 2015, Labour-Lib Dem minority government formed. Boris becomes Leader of the Opposition and wins majority in 2020.

I'd rather see Theresa May take over, but I can see him as leader. IIRC, he almost challenged Cameron in 2012. I think a switch between Zac Goldsmith and him was in the works.

I think SNL would have a field day with Prime Minister Johnson.

I think May and maybe Kenneth Clarke would be a good Tory leader.

A Labour-Lib Dem pact or coalition is unlikely within the foreseeable future; relations between the two parties are sour to put it mildly.
