Again, this is a poll about your personal preference, not "who was the best PM".

I had hard time choosing between Palmerston, Gladstone and Lloyd George. Went with Palmerston.

Is this the point where someone mentions Gladstone's really weird hobby? I.e. picking up prostitutes and trying to Reform them.

But... that was his Christian charity.

I hope you're not insinuating anything untoward about the good man! Cheesy

Really Gladstone was a sourpuss. I can understand why Victoria loathed him.

I'm tempted to vote Asquith, who I prefer to Lloyd George; but probably have to give it to the Grand Old Man.

An alcoholic with zero personal skills and an obsession with eugenics?

I don't really know why (and I didn't know about the eugenics, but let's face it, pretty much every public figure was dabbling with eugenic at the time). I kind of feel sorry for him I guess? Probably a bad way to rank PM's...

I thought you would be a big Palmerstone fan.

David Lloyd George is one of the best but I feel like I need to acknowledge Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, who's social reforms and support for causes like Irish Home Rule are under appreciated by many today.

Campbell-Bannerman was responsible for precisely zero social reforms; those passed during his government were passed grudgingly (and sometimes via private members bills) and in general he acted as a break on the genuine reforming instincts of the New Liberal faction.
