Lee announces re-election committee, includes Huntsman and the bank president floated as a Lee challenger.

Yeah, after Huntsman said that Lee was great and declined running, I figured something like this would happen. Ah well, Matheson or bust, I guess. There might be a random state rep that challenges Lee in the primary, there's usually one or two who try for a statewide office every cycle.

Interesting fact about Zions Bank: despite being effectively the LDS Church's bank and apparently owned by a conservative Republican, many Hispanic Democratic politicians in Utah (including former state senator Ross Romero, state senator Luz Robles, a couple of former state reps whose names escape me) work at Zions bank for their day job.

Excellent News!

Mike Lee is a great Senator, and I hope continues his great work on behalf of the American people.

Hopefully Josh Romney challenges Lee. I just can't see Utah electing any democrat, not even Matheson, to federal office.

Probably true, but Matheson has the best bet due to his statewide recognition, his record of winning tough elections against well-funded Republicans, and his higher approval rating than Lee's.

Though if Josh Romney proves to be actually moderate and not a flip-flopper like Mitt, I'd be open to supporting him (though I hate the Romney dynastic love that many Utahns have).

If I could vote in a Huntsman vs Lee Republican primary, I'd vote for Huntsman in a heartbeat.  He's a Republican I would vote for in a federal election, even over Jim Matheson.

Well, Huntsman isn't running, so Matheson is the only sane choice (Lee is honestly just a puppet of Ted Cruz at this point).
