Yes seriously. It being Easter people wanted to celebrate beyond the normal, and got out to the front and start actually dancing and pogoing and doing the whole fist pump thing. And at on point one guy got up and crowd surfed. So yes, my church is cooler than many metal shows. Haha! Unfortunately I didn't get that recorded but I got plenty of other clips. Man imagine if someone had told me when I was confirmed a long time ago church could be this cool. That I would be all sweaty in a hoodie, band shirt and ripped jeans jumping around...and it's not a show, it's church! It even concluded with the crowd chanting ONE MORE SONG over and over to the band that did an encore. This is simply great.

I went to a three and a half hour long Easter Vigil Mass with a lot of chanting and some Latin.

Afterward, they did throw a party in the church basement in celebration though. No crowd surfing, but there was some (responsible) drinking and signing praise and worship songs into the wee hours of the morning. Only in the basement and not in the sanctuary itself obviously.

My Easter Vigil was only about two hours because there were no baptisms this year, and the Massachusetts wind almost blew the Paschal candle out of the acolyte's hands and made it extremely difficult to light, but hearing the lessons by candlelight, and the Paschal Homily of St John Chrysostom, and the first 'Alleluias' for six weeks just as all the lights in the sanctuary were finally slammed on, were still just as powerful as they ever are.
