This essay is rather cruel, but just because it's cruel does not necessarily mean it's unfair. Jeb's closest advisor on Mideast affairs is brother Dubya?  Really?

Are Republicans even trying to win this Presidential election or...? If the party has not yet learned to repudiate the entire toxic Bush II administration, then it deserves to be kept out in the political wilderness.

That is basically what Ive said. GW Bush and Iraq have to be repudiated, or the GOP deserves to lose. It also prevents the party for fully criticizing Obama on Libya.

One of the biggest blows to Romney in that second debate came on the question, "how are you different from Bush?"

Romney bumbled his way through about different man for different times and didn't even mention the deficits, as any conservative should. The honest answer should have been to emphasize the competence factor many Republicans, including myself, found Romney to be likely comparatively better than Bush and were thus drawn to him. The Katrina response, corruption scandals, Iraqi reconstruction, the deficits, growth of gov't, mortgage meltdown, and so on.

Instead Romney missed his opportunity and then Obama came around and answered it for him by highlighting all the ways he was worse then Bush.

Jeb cannot beat Hillary or any other Democrat for that matter.

The Romney comparison is worth keeping in mind because he won anyway. Gaffes are rarely fatal. The closest one last time was Perry's Oops and that was off the charts inept and he had already collapsed when it happened. Bush, like Romney, will be able to outspend just about everyone. Walker, Rubio and Cruz may not be as outmatched as Perry, Santorum and Gingrich but they may be enough.
