Most recent poll had him at 12% there, second to Lindsey.

If this kind of stuff stays in the news, with this reignited talk about the confederate flag, I could see a lot of white guilt votes from conservatives to try and show how not-racist South Carolina is.

It would not surprise me to see him take the lead in the polls there now.

His poll numbers might go up a bit in the short run, but I don't think it will help him in the long run.

No. All of the "I'm not racist, I supported Herman Cain" Republicans were already behind Carson.

It could help him a bit, especially if Carson comes out somewhat sympathetic about the Confederate flag (something like "It's their heritage, and I respect that" or something)

Astonishingly, Carson the only Republican to acknowledge the murderer was racist so far.

It could help him a bit, especially if Carson comes out somewhat sympathetic about the Confederate flag (something like "It's their heritage, and I respect that" or something)

I'm curious to see how it affects Jeb who ordered the flag removed from government buildings. If it doesn't hurt him, I'll be far more encouraged than if Carson does well.

I don't think white guilt voters actually exist outside the minds of Atlas users.

I think Santorum said the killer was obviously motivated by race.

I'm pretty sure he went on a rant about persecution of Christians.
