As an experienced businessman who knows how to be strategic and act in order to become popular, I'm absolutely sure that if (somehow) elected, Trump will definitely moderate his positions in order to get a high approval rating and win a second term. We know he's not actually a right-wing lunatic (as expressed by his previous political sentiments), so my best bet is that he'll become at least as moderate as Kasich in order to pander to the feelings of the majority of the American people.

He absolutely will and has to moderate, if he wants to govern effectively. I think he's just playing the clown right now (ok, he in fact is some kind of clown), to win attention of the public in the large Republican candidate field.

As experieced businessman, he might cut several deals with Congress. And I think there are some issues, where they can finde common ground. An example: Trump stated that he's not opposed to higher taxes for upper incomes while he wants to reduce the tax burden for the middle class.

He's closer to the center than most of the other GOPers running.

I wasn't aware he had positions in the first place.

Please tell me the differences in the positions of Trump and Sanders. I believe Trump wants to stimulate our economy by funding a wall in addition to all the other spending and labor protections? I think dudeabides would agree when I say Trump and Sanders are basically the same (though he would add that Trump is dumber).

Come on, just because Trump and Sanders have some positions that are similar and are different from Jeb and Hillary doesn't mean that they are that similar overall.

Basically positions and policies don't really matter in presidential candidates (well they do, but less than people think). You're electing a persona to represent you, and to guide the country though he myriad issues that will come out.

Paul is BY EXTREMELY FAR THE MOST MODERATE CANDIDATE.

55% would probably say that Rand Paul is more liberal than Hill Hillary Hill Clinton.

Other than Rand, there are quite a few like Christie and Kasich who are all rather moderate.

Why would he? If Trump became President, then wouldn't that confirm he was right to pick the flavor of the week?

If he somehow wins, I hope congress spends every moment of every day blocking his agenda and looking to impeach him.

Paul is the most right-wing candidate on economic issues.

Trump on the other hand has extremely divisive rhetoric but as far as actual issues go he might be on some issues actually to the left of Hillary Clinton.

Uhmm, I thought the most moderates are Christie and Kasich (if a Republican had to be elected, I would prefer Kasich over the rest).

Thing is Trump would without a doubt be primaried in 2020. It would be pretty fun to see a three-way like in 1912, with a sitting President running as an independent.

It would be funny to see a sitting President running as an independent and getting less than 5% of the vote.

Trump's not much different than Bill Clinton in his actual views with the exception of immigration.

South Park really convinced me that Trump would be the best. He'd get half the toxic ideological influences out of the country immediately by their own choice. Unfortunately, we'd still have the Evangelicals, but it's a sacrifice we have to make.

Trump has taken conservative positions of social issues, whereas Sanders has not.  Trump does agree with Sanders on trade agreements, but not immigration.
