>70% = Party Pickup. Lets start with Lt. Governor.

Lt. Governor (for the 17 states that separately elect it)

These are the 2014 races...

Technically, the Delaware Lt. Governor position is vacant, since he just ran for AG and won, but I'm assuming there will be an appointed person by the governor to fill the position until the next election.

AG:

Grey = Appointed by the Supreme Court, appointed by the Governor, or elected by the legislature

Green = Not elected in 2014

Technically UT did have a special election for AG this year, though its usually in Presidential years.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Delaware had it's first newly elected GOP statewide official in decades.

Some states should consider moving their statewide elections to the presidential years, if only to increase turnout.

Auditor:

Grey = Appointed by governor or state legislature, or non-existent.

Green = Not elected in 2014

Missouri had a special auditor election this year, though it usually holds all its statewide executive elections in presidential years.

I have no idea what the difference between treasurer and auditor is.

I would probably put the TX Comptroller in the treasurer map since part of the reason the state treasurer position was abolished 20 years ago was because by that point most of its functions had been transferred to the comptroller's office and it had become an increasingly ceremonial post.

Nicely done!

AR and NV really stand out on these maps.

This year D.C. elected its AG by popular vote for the first time. All 5 candidates listed themselves on the ballot as Democrats.

Was not aware that South Carolina had a Democratic Lieutenant Governor. Apparently he was elected to Senate PPT and ascended to Lt. Gov so that the incumbent Republican PPT didn't have to become Lt. Gov.

Ditto New Jersey.

Tennessee; Governor only.  Lt Gov is the State Senate President.

The Louisiana LG is elected separately, too.

After all the whining Republicans have down this week about Dardenne, you might actually want to fill it in red Wink
