If he is violating the ordinance, then the action on the part of the City of Layton is reasonable.  However, the idiots honking the horns and shining light into his daughter's window should be prosecuted.

1) More proof of government tyranny.

2) Another case for unrestricted ownership of fire arms.  He should be able to shoot the person that attempted to break into his daughter's room.

I've got to agree with Alcon.  I suggest that his sign could be displayed in an area that is secure (and public), where it doesn't violate the ordinance.  Likewise, he might be able to get a "varience" from the ordinance and keep it there.  It might be helpful if his neighbors would support him in this.

Why do his neighdors care that he has this sign?  It's a memorial.

He should not be harassed, and the local officials should be doing more to crack down on those harassing him.

Absolutely not. He has a right to do this on his property.

Because they're liberals.

Why should anyone harass him? That's just sick. If he isn't violating any zoning laws then the government has no reason to bother him. The people who should be harassed are the ones harassing him.

No, they should be arrested for trespassing on private property.

Well, because you woundn't want me to start rendering hogs or opening a fertalizer plant next door to your house.

I believe that a finning memorial would be an eternal torch, but if people started erecting them in their front yards, there would be a problem (like gas leaks).

I understand the need for zoning, and respect it, but variances can be granted.
