according to that test, I'm a Liberal.  But then the term is usually considered demeaning in many circles in the US.  I prefer the term secular humanist.

ah, sh**t.  I had forgotten about that.  okay, Let's see...

well, apparently it's changed.  But the good news is that the Harvard Political Test is still there, only different (and, I think, a bit less time-consuming) than when I'd taken it before (roughly early '04)  The current one calls me a "secular centrist" FYI.  Here's the link to the current version:

You were on the money.

You are a Secular Centrist. Secular centrists like you tend to be:

Strongly supportive of gay rights.
Believe strongly in the separation of church and state.
Less supportive of affirmative action than most college students.
Less likely to be concerned about the environment than most college students.
Less likely to believe in basic health insurance as a right than most college students.

If you're not sure which of these nine catagories you're in, there's a test here:

I am a: Religious Centrist.  But it goes on to say that Religious Centrists are supportive of Affirmative Action.  That's not me.

That other test has only 4 catagories, what do you expect?

You are a Religious Centrist. Religious centrists like you tend to be:

    * Strongly supportive of affirmative action.
    * Supportive of environmental protection.
    * Concerned about the morality of gay marriage.
    * Likely to believe religion should play a more important role in government.

Hah.  I, of course, do not support affirmative action.

On the test jfern linked, I got the Liberal category.

I'm apparently a traditional conservative. But I don't think gay marriage is that morally wrong, and am not pro-religious.

Here's the result I got from Angus' test:

You are a Traditional Liberal. Traditional liberals like you tend to be:

- Against pre-emptive strikes as a policy.

- Strongly supportive of gay rights.

- Of the belief that immigration has been good for this country.

- Supportive of affirmative-action.

- Oppose tax cuts as an economic policy.

- Of the belief that basic health insurance is a right.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of these are on-target though I don't support race/ethnic-based affirmative action.

On the PEW test, I think I'm a Upbeat (what I picked in the poll before I took the test but after I read the data)/Disaffected (what the test picked for me) hybrid.

Secular Centrist? Eh, in part, perhaps...I suspect I'm a hybrid of Religious Centrist/Secular Centrist as well. Wink

I seem to defy easy categorization...

I got enterpriser, just as I thought, but I do not fit with the enterprisers view of socially issues, they basically stuck me in their because I'm a pro-free market Republican.

I'm a Traditional Liberal in angus's test.  Angus being a liberal you should've voted for Kerry, not Bush.
