Yeah, Hillary would make a winnable race unnecessarily close while Bernie would bend Trump over his knees and whip him, especially in the important swing states of CO, NV and ... Utah.

The naive way that Bernie supporters assume his numbers are locked in having had 0 attack ads/serious scrutiny run against him is both adorable and terrifying.

Bernie Sanders has been unfairly attacked by all fronts (the Hillary-forces, the Republicans and the media) for the past year now ... and he's still polling much better than her. That means something.

Lol no he hasn't, stop lying. Bernie is the only candidate who has had ZERO dollars spent against him.

I think Trump closing the gap with Clinton is a result of the rallying of the GOP base around Trump now that he is the prohibitive candidate.  Sander's over-performance is exactly because he will NOT be the Dem candidate so the anti-Dem vote has not turned against him.  Kasich polled well for the same reason.  Neither Kasich's number of Sander's numbers are realistic.  If Sanders were to to run against Trump as the Dem candidate I suspect he will poll worse than Clinton.

You can tell Tender Branson doesn't live here and/or doesn't watch American media because he's under the assumption that they're attacking him. Unless he thinks them saying "his plans wouldn't pass in Congress" is a scathing personal attack on him.

And Republicans? Seriously? Trump talks up Sanders at every opportunity he gets. He even parrots his (personal) attacks on Hillary against her.

Maybe, but no one has touched Sanders in anything comparable to Clinton. There is a lot of good material to attack Sanders on, yet no one has done it. This year's worth of attacks you speak of is nothing but tiny little love taps.

Excuse me if people are horrified that Trump suddenly went from Hoover/Willkie numbers to Romney numbers in a week.

I'm pretty surprised how effective Trump was able to rally people on the GOP side of the ledger.  I thought his debt comments would've really sunk him (though perhaps that won't be reflected in polls until a week or so later), but he does seem to have gotten people to his side.

Pretty much everything in this. It doesn't matter if the stuff is out of context, not true, or blown out of proportion. A lot of that looks bad. Then throw in the socialism bit, which one might argue is useless because they practically call every Democrat a socialist, but Sanders affirms it himself. A lot of people won't make distinctions on types of socialists. Millennials don't care much, but it would be very interesting to see how it plays out across the broader electorate. Polls show a stunning lack of support for a generic socialist candidate.

But, you know, I already see where this is going. You're going to reply with personal opinions, or trying to debunk each claim, or play it down, or whatever. You'll never acknowledge any potential damage that could arise from those, because Bernie is God to you.

So just letting you know I'm not interested in carrying out some fake conversation with you where you act like an absurd hack (as usual) while I try to be reasonable.

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/breaking-down-the-match-between-clinton-and-trump

She wins black voters 86 percent to 9 percent – a 77-point gap. Clinton also wins Hispanics 61 percent to 28 percent.

Trump wins the white vote 52 percent to 41 percent. The 11-point lead among whites compares favorably to the 2012 general election results for Republicans, when Romney beat Obama 59 percent to 39 percent in this demographic group.

Multiple polls showed 58% for a 74 year old Jewish democratic socialist in the general election. People know those things. The cold war ended 25 years ago. This Bernie hasn't been really attacked argument is ridiculous. The Washington Post has run as many as 16 hit pieces against him in a day.

Hillary should be ahead by well over 5 with this racial breakdown. Their sample must be far too white.
