You are a delegate at the 1944 Democratic National Convention. Who would you vote for in the vice presidential selection?

I like both men, but tilt towards Wallace. I think he was more progressive and more in the tradition of FDR.

Truman.  Wallace was too close to the Soviet Union.

Wallace without hindsight, Truman with it.

Truman is the sole sane choice. A Wallace presidency would have been a disaster, and I shudder to think how the post war world would have developed with him at the helm given how naive he was regarding the Soviet Union.

With? Truman was literally the person of dropping nuclear bombs, especially but not limited to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Both are great, but at the time I would have been a strong Wallace supporter.

Without a hindsight, I'd almost certainly vote for Wallace.

Wallace went onto support Nixon and Ike and practically renounced everything on foreign policy. What's to say being in the big seat wouldn't have further accentuated that change?

I'm also not sure if he could've effectively fired MacArthur, gotten the Marshall Plan forward, or desegregated the Army as Truman did.

Yeah, Wallace would have probably allowed Stalin to get even more land in Europe.  It would not have been pretty.
