Personality is mostly inherited, though its disputed. Life experiences is all nurture. This is mainly for people with strong viewpoints and/or who are well informed and stay in touch with politics. We all know the type of person who names themself a Democrat/Republican and then knows nothing about politics (likely their family just told them which side to be on).

I definitely am coming around more to personality being a strong determinant of political views, and I think it is increasingly becoming that way. This is definitely true for myself and a lot of other people. However, nurture can strongly influence religious views and economic views (getting laid off, working minimum wage, etc.).

I tend to regard my personality as the product of my life experiences, so this is a bit difficult.

Having my apartment burglarized multiple times (and experiencing city life in general) has made me less supportive of gun control, for sure.

I'd say in general it's a healthy mix, though.

I would say it's pretty even combination, since your experiences can influence your personality, and your personality will influence how you react to different experiences.

Both, but life experiences a little more.
