Yeah, I don't get anyone saying it would run afoul the Constitution.

A President can completely shut out a Vice President, and it's fine. The complete opposite could also happen - the President could let the VP meet with Congress, send initiatives to them, do all the heavy lifting, and as long as the President is the one who signs the bill as a by-product of such work by the VP,  it's a-okay. Just a different management style.

Kasich should have used his leverage to get Trump to change the campaign. I wish he had accepted, but pledged to refuse if they didn't change the campaign.

Trump's campaign on fair trade with more speakers like Giuliani at the Convention could have been a lot better.

This is interesting, because this might serve as a preview of what is to come should Trump manage to win this.  I wouldn't be surprised to see another Bush/Cheney term play out, with Cheney bearing the bulk of the power and influence with the guy who should be in charge playing second banana to his VP.  Which is to say four years of Trump = four years of Pence.  A scary thought.  But, seeing how inept Trump is, him ceding this much power to Pence would not come as a surprise.

I'm so glad that Kasich gave the trump family the middle-finger, instead.

Probably completely untrue. Planted story by the Kasich folks, but the gullible libs will no doubt run with it like it's the gospel.

Like him or not, Trump is one of history's' most successful businessmen. He's not going to just hand off the presidency to Mr. 1 state Kasich. Trump likes it to be about him, Trump likes to be in control

I'm amazed people are buying this

In a month Kasich would have been a figurehead while Christie runs the government because John screwed up Trump's Big Mac order.

Exactly. But it worked. People are running with the story

Overall Kasich would've been a better choice as VP than Pence. Heck as poorly as Kasich did in the primaries the guy is so damn likeable and doesn't come across as polarizing as Cruz. Kasich doesn't talk down or lecture people. He's folksy, hardworking, with a good personal story.

Kasich vs Hillary would've been a total coin flip.

Any trump supporters who back this idea, are basically saying that Kasich would make a better President (than trump).

I doubt this is actually true, but if it is I'm also glad Kasich gave Trump the finger

That same article also listed Gov. Sandoval as a potential running mate, but Trump was too upset that he had endorsed Kasich.

Then goes around picking an Indiana Gov. that endorsed Cruz.

Sandoval would have been such an odd choice for Trump

Kasich would have been an odd choice as well, but he was Trump's perfect pick. There were few good picks that would look good with Trump, but the article particularly listed the Kasich endorsement as a disqualifier.

The real reason was that Sandoval explicitly refused to run with Trump before even being asked. Good cover story for a campaign, though.

This "I'll let my VP worry about how to run the country" thing has been telegraphed by Trump world since May:

link

It sounds like Trump just can't be bothered with the details of running the federal government, and so prefers to simply be "chairman of the board" rather than "chief executive officer".

This has been my view from the get-go, he doesn't want the job of being president, that's hard. He wants the glory of victory and the spoils of the position.

Unfortunately Trump has proven time after time that he is too much of a loose cannon to come to terms and respect such an agreement. And once Kasich gave his "blessing", to such an arrangement, Trump would have done whatever he pleased. Kasich did the right and principled thing by refusing to be a party to any of this.

Ultimately it all comes back to the fact that Trump is the architect of all his lost opportunities.

I think you might be right.
But the thing I don't get, is why does the electorate not see this ?
Why would anyone support someone for president, who really does NOT want to be ?
Strange ..... I'm so confused with Mr Orange Hair and his followers.

I suspect in a Trump admin the Chief of Staff would have huge power, like Don Regan during Reagan's second term (he was dubbed "America's first Prime Minister"). Also even though Trump talks a lot about unilateral action, much power would end up being ceded to congress, especially Paul Ryan. He and McConnell look at Trump and just see a giant  rubber stamp.
