Ok, I'll admit from the beginning that he always was a bit of a self-righteous asshole. But he was fighting the Bush administration's ill-conceived policies on terrorism, and for transparency and human rights, long before it was cool.
But lately he has become a full-time Putin apologist, denouncing every criticism of Russia as cold-war warmongering and anti-Russian bigotry, and parroting Kremlin-approved talking points.
Do you think he cashed in with Putin or is this the natural evolution of his previous stance against the last US administration(s)?

Perhaps he cashed in with Putin, or perhaps he's just a genuine useful idiot. Does it really matter either way? Putin apologists should not be taken seriously by anyone.

Oh, I agree that from the moment he became an unapologetic Putin cheerleader he shouldn't be taken seriously anymore. I was just curious about the reasons of his change.
I mean Greenwald chastised the US for more than a decade about gay rights and now suddenly he embraces the world's most famous homophobe and his regime? You must admit it's pretty strange.

I don’t agree with you on Glenn Greenwald. He has written for a few years that the Democratic Party has been complicit with the Republican Party with some of the United States’ harmful policies, including the Iraq War. Blowback against him which comes from Democrats are motivated by those more about Team Blue than with actually distinguishing what are good and bad policies for this nation. So, a lot of people are bothered by him. That is to be expected.

Did you read what I wrote? I am not talking about Iraq, I'm talking about his sudden transformation into a Putin-loving hack.

To many far leftists being anti-American makes you automatically good. Some even cheer ISIS for fighting against "American imperialism."
